Red Dawn was an awesome movie. Maybe you should top being a conspiracy theorist and think every movie is propaganda.
I bet you think independence day is propaganda too, because we fight aliens.
-
@didi89s just to confirm have you actually seen this movie or are you just judging it based on this trailer?
-
@didi89s this is not propaganda this is a very realistic take on nuclear war unlike that right-wing bullshit Red Dawn

What an interesting title, referring to the fact that the day after a nuclear attack could exist, rather than being a simple end of the world. Gee, wouldn't be awful if some other director came along changed the title slightly and stuck onto his disaster movie as if it was his idea (the Day After Tomorrow)?
FAIL!!!

I don't really think the Soviet Union and the United States really would've engaged in a nuclear war i mean it makes no sense they were both equally capable in terms of their nuclear arsenal and neither had any really defense against nuclear attack the Soviets were fascists but they weren't stupid and neither are we

@otaniesa, thank you for mentioning Letters from a dead man. I've seen a lot of post apocalypse/nuclear war films but had never heard of that film before. An excellent although grim film.
-
Just like that Red Dawn bullshit.Only more f illed with stupidity and propaganda.

In many ways Threads is more frightening than The day after. Testament (1983) is utterly depressing.
If you want to see the russian side of this matter, try to find Letters from a dead man (1986), just as frightening and depressing as its western counterparts

I hear the theators offered prozac topping fer the popcorn...
Well the ending of this movie shows the true reality of humankind ,
for thousand years people fight for a piece of earth and for what purpose ?
For what cost ?

man this movie really scared me back then. Back in the 80's the fear of a Nuclear War was real and present. I was 10 years old and this movie was very realistic and dramatic.... and now what about North Corea?

Well ,
Except an insane , totally insane , no leader would drop a nuclear bomb without to think of a reflex action over his own head...
It will be fine . But our generation will guard the limit of the insanity and will lead the new ones , as Obama shown , to never use similar actions .
