Go to http://www.ianbrown.cc/blog for more powerful computer tips and tricks. In this video, I show you how to find the files that are taking up the most disk space on your Macintosh so you don't have to take a lot of time manually deleting small files to free up some space.

Ian Brown owns and runs a mobile computer repair and tech service in Los Angeles, California, and services both Mac and PC.

  • mate you just helped me free up 150GB of my hard drive haha nice one!

  • If you want the new one for free, download it and KCNscrew and then you can patch it. Simple.

  • great video! just what i was looking for thank you

  • actualy dmg doesnt stand for disk image dmg stands for disk mounted graphic but there are diferent types of disk images like iso files

  • the reason why I punked out on this video is because you incorporated another alien program and I'm too skeptic about it. I am going into my Macintosh HD and viewing the file sizes by clicking on the folder and I press the space bar it will show either KB, MB, GB file size then from their I apprehend the unneeded files.

  • You're welcome, keltbrat.

  • In the video, I show you how to use the software, WhatSize, to show you what folders/files are taking up the most space. What folders were listed on top? Did you go inside your User folder to see what they are? You might want to watch the video again to see what I'm talking about. Follow exactly what I do in the video. Let me know if that works for you.
