Music: Main theme of the movie 2046 (with Percussion Train Remix) by Shigeru Umebayashi

"The idea came to me when I was on my way home, in the train. It often is the things that we have daily in front of our eyes -- in this case 46 minutes a day -- that deserve to be explored.

I told myself that the landscape that we see unwind through the window symbolise the time passing by, life flowing. The window of the train has therefore, for me, a revealing function.

The video realised from this window shows a day in fast motion and is a representation of life:
- short
- monotonous, but with changes nevertheless
- cyclic, indeed in life there is a lot of elements that are like this: the night and day cycle, the seasons, the births and deaths or the highs and the lows if life for example.

The black&white and the "old" feeling symbolise the remembrance, as if, before dying, we saw our lives passing by our eyes." The black&white also gives an impression of unreality."

The music is so beautiful. Absolutely amazing.

Your use of the train as a metaphor for life is also wonderful.

Maybe it is actually two metaphors in one...

We do, indeed, sit on the train everyday and move in that straight line, regardless of our inclination at any given moment to stray.

However, in some ways, we are also the drivers of our own trains. Imagine choosing your course and initiating that momentum.

Great communication. The sense of tension was astounding. The music, the sound effects, created a tension and an angst that was quite out of the cold-war era of spy movies. Good lead-in to a film, setting the tone. Well done mate. Carry on.
