    It doesn't burn at all. There's no heat. You are only using the fire to create a vacuum within the cups. The cups themselves don't get hot. The red bruises are actually blood moving to the surface of the skin. Cupping is used to increase circulation and relieve pain and stiffness.

    I'm an acupuncturist. There should never be heat contact with the skin. Ever. It's against the law to do that in the US. You WILL get a bruise, because of the suction of the cups.
