This is a video of our senior capstone project at ITT-Tech, a sound activated, voice controlled shower. Our team members are David Simmet, Edgar Manker and Eric Salamanca. When you tell Candy what temperature you want she will get the shower ready for you! Using a Basic Stamp 2e as the brain, a Say It Voice Module as the ears, a CD player as a mouth and a 2000WATT heater combined with an Air Conditioner contactor as the muscle, we get a fully automated, hands free system. Perfect for blind or paralyzed people that have difficulty using conventional controls.

Regarding the request for 98 degrees... that's marketing genious. The design team has built in room for future improvements and therefore the sale of generational improvements over the next several years. ;) Way to go Eric. This is pretty awesome. Lot's of technology in here. This is what NEC builds on the nano-scale level. You're ready for product development with the big guns.

why can't you say a specific temp that isnt divisible by 5? ...like 98 or something

@fidelsala The sensor we bought has a very wide temperature window, if I remember correctly it can read from -40F to 500F If we had bought one with a smaller window, say 0 to 100C then I could change the program to control to a single digit. Candy can recognize all numbers and the program can get within tenths of a degree but poor senor resolution equals poor control resolution
