I'm partial to "Cast Earth", myself. Its tensile and compressive strengths are astronomical. And the prime binder, calcined gypsum, is easily made (limestone). But there is, of course, a very strong argument for using local soils.

I am a general contractor who is building an earthen structure in Florida; the codes department is a PITA for permitting here making this type of construction very slow to come to this state.

Good information! I never considered using kob with rammed earth until this video, but I like your idea of the stove being near the kob wall (and aparantly through it) to radiate heat slowly. It drives me crazy that "modern" homes have to practically blow a furnace non stop in some climates.

this is all good and true and whatnot... but i can't wait until elastic illusion learns green building once they've covered breakdancing, it would jumpstart random people to find it fun.

The comment by lowerself, I believe, is some sort of mind bending/hypnotic comment to disrupt peoples thoughts, you can ignore it or deal with as you see fit.
