Blanco County conservationist and rancher David Bamberger has been honored with just about every organization that concerns itself with the use of open rangeland. He's also a major force in outdoor education for area schoolchildren. During a recent interview, he warned that the U.S. will go "the way of Rome" if the diverse political players don't get their act together.
more above, i should say: also think what he's saying about wanting to bridge right and left elements within/among enviros is interesting. kinda dig it. but disagree that the center is the location for this. think what he's actually grappling with is how to create some new political space, a third term that transcends and emerges from or beyond the existing spectrum.
how are dirt roads the planet's biggest polluter, tho? did he explain that?

interesting guy. you're lucky. like that he thinks that what he does is in some way very very significant and important and history-making/changing. everyone should be able to think that about whatever it is they enjoy doing.
