Here's a NICE clip of Midnight the Cat (voice by June Foray) from the old Andy's Gang show. Squeaky the Mouse...was a hamster. www.froggythegremlin.com

  • Thank you, You Tube, for the memories.

  • I am more used to seeing Midnight with a violin.

  • @MartinGist She was definitely a live cat (see her licking her nose in the clip) but she did endure a lot of stuff, like costumes, having to play musical instruments etc

  • Midnight was the original keyboard cat!

  • You're right. I watched it not knowing if I was supposed to be happy or frightened. I guess Andy provided enough protection so it was okay, but I realize now, it was like a haunted house. Froggy, Midnight. The cutaways to murky Indian jungle scenes. It was supposed to be cute, I guess, but those black shapes on the flickering dark TV were eerie. But Andy was comforting and it was just safe enough to be fun.

  • OMG I never dreamed I would see these creepy yet fascinating images again. I was glued to the TV at what age three? Every day I had to try once again to discern if Midnight was a real live cat or as I suspected a stuffed dead cat, as he said only and always "Nice!".

  • where peter lynch got his inspiration.

  • midnight`s usual line was "nice"...it was one weird show...

  • Thanks for posting. Big part of baby boomers childhood!

  • God it's like a Lynchian nightmare
