Quickly becoming the fastest growing occupation in America, the Medical Assisting Program at the College of Office Technology prepares students with all of the necessary skills for an entry-level medical position as a Medical Assistant, Insurance Biller and Coder, Medical Records Clerk, Phlebotomist, or Clinical Assistant. The Medical Assisting Program covers a wide range of both administrative and clinical skills. This program will prepare students for the Certified Medical Assistant Exam.

Medical Assistant are in high demand for several reasons. The Baby Boomer population is aging, and they require more medical care. Also, medical and technical advancements are giving patients more options, and more Medical Assistants are needed to assist with those options. Furthermore, as the demand for services is increasing, the number of healthcare offices is increasing. Medical Assistants are needed to provide basic medical and clerical services in hundreds of those places in the greater Chicago area.

The strong need for Medical Assistants is expected to grow for years to come, and this presents many opportunities for people who want to rise up and answer those needs.
