Hymn Time # 196 with Arvin Wynn and today The Chuck Wagon Gang with two great classic old songs from yesterday. The gang was formed in 1936 by the founding member D. P.(Dad) Carter .The members on this video that I know are Jim Wesson- Roy Carter -bass ,Rose Carter Karnes -saprano,Anna Gordon Davis -alto and Howard Gordon on the guitar. I have had this tape for many years given to me by one super fan of the Chuck Wagon Gang and it has been lost for years behind a book case along with several other precious long lost tapes.I hope that you will enjoy this classic tape and that God will bless you.I am a life time fan of The Chuck Wagon Gang and have just about every record or recording that they have ever sang ,I even have a stack of old 78 rpm's of the Chuck Wagon Gang.If you are looking for some classic old shows and tapes check out the web site of christianbook.com they have some older blackand white shows . I also invite you to check out The New Chuck Wagon Gang web site they also have some of the older as well as the new music by the gang .
Every time I watch this classic old tape I cry.

  • loved the singing but those eyeglasses used to scare me

  • @ki4nmu I could not agree with you any more....however they truly did look good on Anna...they just made her I think.

  • I remember the Chuck Wagon Gang--the second album cover. . .my Grand-Mother had that one. Brings back some good memories. Thank you

  • You are very welcome ,God bless you.

  • You have quite the collection of tapesand cd's behind you there, Brother Arvin.I like the "Old" groups and singers. The Goodmans, Jake Hess, and so o. Can't get into the new christian music. Heard a guy once say the old hymns are dead. Keep up the great ork Brother Arvin. And may God bless you.

  • yes I do store a lot of great southern gospel music ...I try and keep all the singers going on for the Lord, I just always love southern gospel ,from that first night I heard it on "Music In the Night on the old WWMO a long gone 50,000 watt atation that aired gospel back in the late 60's and early 70's. One of the first songs I remember was The Ligt House by the great Hinsons and of course The Happy Goodman Family those were the days.

  • I really appreciate what you'r doing we the old timers just cannot get in tune with the new christian music and you are a blessing. I have a few old LPS and a couple of the Chuck Wagon Gang too. Do you have a song entitled Then I met the master. with Jake Hess or somebody elses?

God bless you and your family.

  • The Gang has been one of the most durable and finest groups ever to grace the airwaves.

  • Enjoying the CWG. I had never heard of them before and found them by accident. I have now ordered the dvd and cd I found on their web site. Thanks for giving me some very happy hours listening.

  • The best group ever to perform hymns

  • During the 50's I listened to the Ole' Opry and at the end of each show this group would end the show. Fond memories indeed. Bill Gaither at times recalls this group as well on his DVD's..PTL

  • i first heard the cwg about l950. by the mid 60s ihad collected over a dozen cwg albums. yes my admiration for the cwg continues this present day.

  • i have the cassette tape of that one...the second one...i like it!
