@LukeOfTroy Well no one envies the fans of the original version ether.

Simple; as a little kid then, loving added footage; I fell in love with the Greedo scene. As I got older, I felt it was better cause it shows Greedo's incompetent. I don't see what's so wrong, so Han didn't shoot first; he's not a Jedi who could have stopped Greedo with the Force.

Ppl are not "rightfully" but wrongfully pissed as it's not their movie series to begin with; thus it's not up to the them to decide.

@JediDanD No one begrudges the fans of the re-cuts, though I definitely don't understand it. What sucks is that because of marketing choices, not popular will, the re-cuts became the standard and the originals were almost completely lost outside of the odd remaining VHS. So people are rightfully pissed off about that. Also just let me ask how you could prefer Greedo shooting first, I mean I understand not caring, but how can you actually prefer it? How does it improve the film?

@JediDanD Do you think people would accept it if Da Vinci came back in time and started fucking with the Mona Lisa, and what if George Lucas made some more dramatic changes, like Vader letting the emperor kill Luke at the end, does he just get to change the story after the fact? Well obviously because he owns the story he can do whatever he wants, but it really sucked that the originals weren't released on DVD with the re-cuts, and now you almost can't find them.

@JediDanD Doesn't the act off lowering the intelligence of the enemy unavoidably reduce Han's Badassness. I'm watching the original right now and even though you don't actually see either of them fire, it's clearly shot to make it look like Han got the drop on Greedo, shooting him before Greedo knew what was going on, because he's a bad ass smuggler. The re-cut didn't destroy the movie, but it still wasn't as good, and when you don't digitize the better version it will piss people off

This is cool, when I saw this change in 1997 (I was like 9 3/4), I just loved it (more shots means more action).

But yeah, I don't see this as something that takes away from Han's badassness, as he was gonna kill Greedo right then and there anyway; Greedo shooting first had no effect on Han's actions. I see this as something that adds to Greedo's dumbassness.
