Dale Earnhardt Qualifies For The 2001 Daytona 500

The Intimidator takes the provisional pole as the third car on the track during qualifying for the 2001 Daytona 500. Earnhardt's lap of 180.694 mph was 27th-fastest on the day, placing him 14th on the grid for the 1st Gatorade Twin 125 the following Thursday.

sigh... Twas a surprising day that day... 10 years sure does. 2001 was a pretty sad year.... for me it started off bad and ended worse... On a different note, I have to say the 2000-2002 Chevy Monte Carlos were absolutely Beautiful! Especially Dale's #3!! sigh. I guess the 2011 Imps are the Closest we have as to the MCs. ( Actually they're more like what if the Lumina returned)
