Autism is NOT genetic-it is environmental.
The truth is, no one knows for sure what causes Autism. That's because Autism, unlike diabetes, the flu, or even cancer, is not a medical condition. Instead, it is a definition given to those what exhibit a specific set of behaviors. Those behaviors are what defines Autism, not a specific medical condition. Hence any number of things can "cause" Autism, if they cause a specific behavior.

@carol3hawks It is not in the vaccine, it is genetic. I am autistic and i take offence when people try to blame a set of circumstance as oppose to accept the condition as just being different. All studies show that vaccines have nothing to do with autism. It is not a disease, it who we are. By no means would I want to be like the others. I like being smarter.

Autism has no prejudice. All races are targets. My son has Down syndrome and autism. He is now 34, non-verbal. I personally blame the vaccinations of the 70's. Very high mercury content. Maybe not in todays vaccines, but definently in the vaccines of the 70's
