I finally got around to making a video of my N scale model railroad layout. The layout is in two combined sections. The first section is the rural "Gulf Summit Susquehanna Valley" based on the plans found in the Atlas book "Nine N Scale Model Railroads". The second section, a bustling urban downtown, was freelanced and is basically an extension of the outer loop of track of the first section. The overall size of the layout is 4' x 12'. The crossing signals/gates were manufactured by Kato and are activated by means of sensor tracks. Working a little at a time, the layout with all the buildings and structures took me a couple of years to build and detail. I hope you enjoy the video!

  • @bbobs327 Thanks so much for your comment!

  • yeah you did and awesome job i like how u blended the kato double track road crossing into your spread i am thinking of doing that when i can save the money its adds a ton of realizum to the layout and makes it seem like there is life ...

  • @trackspike64 Thank you for your comment, I really appreciate it. Just to clarify, I only used a single track Kato crossing on my layout. I went with the Kato grade crossing because it was very easy to set up - basically plug and go. It was rather pricey though.

  • @Ikillzombies12 First of all, thanks so much for your comments! This is actually the 5th layout that I've built over the years. I consider the pervious ones either starter layouts or experimental layouts. Each time I built one I learned from my past mistakes and pitfalls. The basic things you need for a layout like the one like this is: a plan, a whole lot of time as well as a lot of money. I recommend plans like those found in Atlas model railroad books or plans in Model Railroader magazine.

  • @ren2020ky Thanks, I appreciate your comment. You are absolutely correct, and the possibilities are endless. That's the main reason I got into N scale.
