Boys & Girls Club Band perform original song about the Homeless called "Helping Hand." The song was to call attention to and raise awareness about the plight of the homeless in America.
The Boys & Girls Club Band were selected in a National Contest to perform at the Boys & Girls Clubs of America National Conference in San Diego, CA.
The Boys and Girls Club band recorded and released a CD called Helping Hand which received radio airplay and was sold at the Convention and to the public. The CD featured a collection of songs as well as the original song and title track called "Helping Hand."
Many of the members of the The Boys and Girls Club Band have gone on to record music with other bands and pursue careers in the music business including the guitarist/vocalist who now has a Boston based all-original act playing high energy rock and roll. The female vocalist performs at top jazz venues in Boston and New England. The trumpet player performs with a very popular jam band at venues throughout the East Coast. The pianist now sings and plays guitar performing a live show throughout Boston's acoustic club circuit and the drummer is in charge of artist relations at a music company. The bassist is performing in LA and the trombone player currently gives a "helping hand" everyday in his role aa a firefighter in Massachusetts.
