Funny you mention terms! Scooping forward is Egyptian, leading with the scoop going back is considered Turkish. It's all good! :) It shows what a variety of teachers we all enjoy.

@Lyn -- nope, I live in the Northern Hemisphere and I learned and teach it as a forward 8 too. Really doesn't make any difference to the drill -- it can be done either way, forward or back.

I live inNZ I was taught that it was a backwards eight. Different teachers different terms. Nice little drill though. I really enjoy DBQ's. Keeps up the inspiration. Thanks!

Must be because we live in the Southern Hemisphere but we would call that a forward eight because you are bringing the hips forward . Our backward 8 is when we push our leading hip backward - actually it could be a strictly NZ term because the Aussies use your terminology as well
