I think if the Monkees had not had such commercial expectations still being dumped on them by this time, and had they been allowed go off somewhere to woodshed for a few months and just learn to appreciate each other as friends/co-workers, they might have produced some outstanding music. The CD "Justus" proves they all had some serious musical talent for writing and arranging--not just Mike and Peter.
