Chinese Tank Type 99 MBT - Main Battle Tank

El Tipo 99, también conocido como ZTZ-99 y WZ-123, desarrollo del Tipo 98G (un desarrollo del Tipo 98), es un tanque de tercera generación usado por el Ejército Popular de Liberación. Hecho para competir con los modernos tanques occidentales. Aunque no se espera que sea adquirido en grandes cantidades debido a su alto costo comparado con el más económico Tipo 96. Es actualmente el tanque de batalla más avanzado de China.

La última variante desarrollada, ahora en etapa de prueba, es el Tipo 99A2 con un motor diésel de 1.500-hp refrigerado por agua y con algunas partes rediseñadas.

Los primeros reportes sobre el Tipo 99 A2 han sido corroborados como verdaderos. Esta nueva versión no solo tiene más blindaje en la torreta sino que fueron rediseñadas las luces delanteras y de los espacios internos. El sistema modular láser fue reemplazado por un sistema defensivo modular móvil.[3] Reportes no confirmados dicen que el arma principal seria de 140 mm y con capacidad para disparar munición de uranio empobrecido. También se instaló blindaje ERA en el frente y los costados de la torre.

@TheSto I hope you are joking and study more about the Type99. It's chassis is similar to that of a T72/T80 like you said, but every part about it is an indigenous design.

I would not under estimate the enemies, One good reason, you have to move your force to the battle zone. It is just like a Vietnam war, where US had to move force for invasion, the proper ratio 10:1

Chinese creativity is either vapid or nonexistent, they just simply copy everyone else's things. This looks like a T80 with a few minor inconsistencies. And to everyone saying who would win, I think it's clear the US would win because of our entire military package of intelligence, logistics, superior firepower, etc. The Chinese at this point are still like a D2 or D3 NCAA football program compared to D1 programs.

this is actually type 96A. It's cheaper and lighter than type 99
