Deadly Encounter - intro

In the beginning of the film Deadly Encounter we see 'Sam' start up his helicopter, in detail. As the engine starts to work and life flows into the rotors, analog synthesizer music starts to play. As he takes off, there are children playing outside the hangar, and 'Sam' skillfully manouvers his helicopter to strike a tin can into the childrens bucket. The mood which this particular sequence captures is beyond words, as it's simple yet very powerful.

I know the composers are Fred Karlin and Michael Hoenig but can not find the soundtrack of this movie...

@SoesBoy444 - I've been there too, and I didn't find any soundtrack CD or anything musical from this movie. Which is pretty sad when you think about it, the music is one of several elements that gives the film its exclusive feel.

Maybe it would be worth digging into this some more. Watching the end credits there are a few names worth noting down. Like music editor Jim Weidman / LA DA Productions, re-recording by Lions Gate Sound, synthesizers performed by Peter Robinson ...

That's about all the film, with credits, can tell us at the moment anyway. Perhaps googling around for some of the names will lead to a soundtrack collection. It would be very sad if the original recordings of the music had gone missing or worse. Personally I think that the music for this film is one of the best synthesizer pieces ever.

Well, I've not seen the Birds Of Pray, but I will some time soon, I hope. I don't have any plans on uploading the complete movie since it would take a long time but the parts I have uploaded show some of the great highlights I think. This film relly deserves more attention than it got over the years, alot thanks to Larry's charisma, but mostly due to the music in combination with the scenery.

@uncletom1971 I have tried to contact a music company around Michael Hoenig about the movie soundtrack some years ago. They told me, that the rights of the music are still on hands of the moviemaker. So no Soundtrack can be make available. But perhabs if more and more people get interested... I would like to have a movie soundtrack too :-)
