We are watching the largest bubble form right before our eyes. We are watching a government bubble form at a record pace. It is looking for a pin to pop it.

He establishes the upcoming financial collapse due to governments, but then states he still supports the power to tax... Taxation (or debt i.e. Differed taxation) is the root cause of the collapse. Why can he not see this, as most people, is depressing.

The story of the future must be told in different ways and varying styles because I think a lot of people are pretty freaked out about contemplating it (see Jason Silva Singularity Summit 2011). John Maudlin's style and story would appeal to a large demographic. This is a good thing.
If you find his method of delivery, political outlook or opinions grating I recommend this resource. It helped me - search TED and watch -

Yes, he pontificates, but that's only because half of the country is still on the dole and really needs to, not only hear this, begin taking care of themselves. Some people in this country still don't get that simple fact. The faster they get that important point, the sooner the rest of us can begin to get back on the right track. Govt. can't solve our problems.
