On February 5-6th, 2010, the Washington, DC area was inundated with a record-breaking snow event. TVN's John Esterheld experienced the extreme conditions in northern Virginia, and documented ~ 24" of total snowfall. Many areas of Maryland, Virginia and West Virginia received over 3' of accumulation, and high winds complicated the situation by creating blizzard conditions as well as knocking out power to hundreds of thousands of Chesapeake Bay-area residents.
