@midniteryder I don't know about "homage" but considering that Hitman and Austin were close even after Bret let the WWF, I think it's safe to say that Bret enjoyed that quite a bit. I think the old Bret Hart would have been happier if Austin would have put HBK in a wheelchair before he retired the first time though haha.
