  • The charge of the light brigade was a small part of the battle of balaklava that captured the imaginations of the victorian public. Contrary to popular myth ,the light brigade were not wiped out in fact only around 100 were killed. If it wasn,t for tenysons poem it would have been forgoten. The cavalry charge at Chilinwala a few years earlier was much worse but nobody talks about that.

  • my great great great grandad was at balaclava.

  • why no one tak=lking about ottoman army which they was there any fight agints russian army

  • The Charge of The Light Brigade, 25th October 1854. The charge occurred during the battle of Balaklava in the Crimean War, when 658 British cavalrymen, acting on a misinterpreted order, rode for more than a mile under heavy fire to attack Russian artillery positions, killed the gunners, then retreated, having lost 110 dead, 180 wounded or taken prisoner and 475 horses killed. - Source - The Independent 2004. - Madness perhaps but considering the blunder, their objective was achieved.

  • @MrJconnolly1916 Alright I'll let you have one heroic defeat Scotland but we still own the heroic victory of Rorkes Drift XD.

  • @NorthernerMatty123 no it was the the 93rd highland division scottish army

  • everyone play iron maiden-the trooper while watching this video, it is awesome! haha

  • @stanislaw84 No it would'nt coz almost all of the troops there were English...

  • @Heightofhate

Nonsense, the 93rd stood their ground, between the Russian cavalry and the port of Balaklava. A thin red streak tipped with a line of steel. The russians then fled, they shat it, the Jocks showed them the Modern Infantry warfare at the time. Get over it. God Bless the 93rd.
