  • 12 or 6 string??? O.o?

  • it's 6 doubled strings which means 12 strings over all

  • Bravissimo!

Please listen to my VERMEER TRIPTYCH via YouTube channel VIKFR

    Yours, Jan Freidlin

  • Are you Jewish?

  • The neck is the same we used on the viola da gamba. This one is beautiful.

  • Tell me something. Do you build This Kind of Violas? It's so difficult with the double strings?

  • It's not classical music. It's baroque.

  • @catmoondevil lol you couldn't count the pegs?

  • I lovwe your playing. Thank you for videos!

  • Lovely. What song are you playing?

  • Such a lovely tone..

  • @catmoondevil 6 PLAYING strings. The other 6 are not played but ring sympathetically. Some instruments have 14 (7 playing, 7 sympathetic). It is not standardized so you see many variants. A violin has very specific measurements, but not these. In addition, it is not tuned in 5ths like the violin. It is generally tuned to a D major chord, so for a 7 string instrument it would be A, d, a, d', f♯', a', d, but the tuning changed with the piece. Nothing is standard with the Viola d'amore.

  • @arkhatych Clarification: Six PLAYING strings. The remaining six go THROUGH the neck and unto the peg head, they are not played, but ring sympathetically with the ones that are. So you are right, 12 strings (for this instrument. some have 14), but only 6 are played.

  • Wonderful istrument, great playing! I add it to my playlist "musical instruments".
