@Voices72 blimey, thats bit of a downer... you can't honestly say that you 'take your life in to your own hands' when going in to town. Guernseys got one of the safest reputations per population in the UK, if not THE safest so come on, get a grip.

Guernsey is so beautiful, Unlike our over developed neighbour jersey....

you forgot to mention the night life where you take your life into your own hands when venturing into the town at night, speeding cars late at night with 17 year old divers thinking they are invincable, narrow roads and wide buses, the States of Guernsey wasting millions of tax payers money.
Guernsey isnt all that... ive seen it change over the last 15 years.
Horticulture is all but gone, derelict greenhouses and house prices soaring beyond the means of local people.
I am local, have seen changes & dont necessarily approve. Have worked in greenhouses. Change is one of life's few certainties, black & white TV to sky HD, normally aspirated cars to hybrid cars, the island like the rest of the world wont survive by standing still. We arent the only ones with issues Guernsey is still a beautiful place to live & be proud of. Parts of the UK you wouldnt go shopping during daytime let alone out on the town. South Africa houses have barred windows as standard!
