Finally some new videos!
This is the first fugue from the well-tempered clavier by Johann Sebastian Bach with organ sound.
It's the first four-part fugue I learned, so don't hesitate to criticize! ;-)
What's so special about this fugue?
Bach has invented a theme that can accompany itself, not the first time of course ;-), but in this fugue the stretto is really extraordinary. At 1:28 the subject is played in all four voices.
Another interesting thing is the number of subject entries, which is 24 (assuming you don't count the false subject in measure 15). This represents the 24 keys (major/minor) and therefore the 24 Preludes and Fugues in WTC 1!
