Now with annotation commentary, filled with trivia and notes on the making of the film.

In the industrialized society of tomorrow, Detective Jack Darter must unlock the secret behind a mysterious robbery.

This film was created using stop-motion animation and LEGO bricks (sometimes called a "brickfilm") and is loosely styled after the detective film noir of the 1940s.

The film is available in other formats, including a high definition version, here:

This film was my entry to the 2008 Brickfilms.com FAR Contest, and it won 1st place out of 9 entries. Once you've seen the film, don't forget to check out the making-of article:

  • nuclear reactors don't release gases from their tops. its all contained within the reactor. so some of this vid. is unrealistic. and I'm pretty the gov. would have regulated the amount of emissions cause they're so many hippies).

  • @skordijhl I'm amused by the assertion that only some of this video is unrealistic. Although nuclear smokestacks most definitely do emit steam from their tops, try a Google images search of "Nuclear Smokestack" for several thousand examples of this.

It's set in the future, though; the government in the fictional setting of the film may be quite different from our own.
