Avebury Stone Circle Complex

Avebury is one of the largest and most interesting stone circles in Britain.Although we have lost so much of it to ignorant vandalism and the ravages time,it is still an awesome site.
The Antiquarian Stukeley imagined the triple circle complete and as his image shows it looks very impressive.
Speculation about the purpose and origins of the site are many.One theory that seems to ring true is the notion that the stones were picked or shaped for their upright and tri-angular shape,their sexual symbolism if you will.
