It is hard to believe that this was written in 1883, by Mexican composer Narciso Serradel Sevilla, the spanish lyrics using the image of a migrating swallow to invoke sentiments of longing for home!!! So beautiful...

Such a haunting melody-God, it so reminds me of my own youth and my beloved daughter who passed away over a year ago-it does bring me to tears whenever I hear it sung or played-no one can ever know or will ever know the pain I feel when I hear this beautiful song....
