For painting reflections in oil or acrylic or house paint if you wish, this is the technique I have been teaching since 1976
It is a very simply way to paint water and reflections. First we paint the reflection of the sky then add the reflections of things on the bank and finish by adding the river bank and ripples where needed. The diffrent layers of paint can be alowed to dry or you may paint wet-on-wet Remember, reflections come straight towads you.

  • I forgot to dab dab dab

  • Sometimes I need to use the acrylic extender. I need it most when blending a large sky or on a dry warm day.

  • To make a living with painting you can paint in public, little pictures, sell them cheap, paint the same sceen over and over, get better and better, it's fun, try a market stall but you must demonstrate to attract attention.

  • Thanks Buz

  • I used acrylic on this painting

  • Hi Ruby and thanks all who enjoy my videos. I do use extender in my paint sometimes and also a spray bottle with water.

Oils are ok but acrylics dry too fast. It is a problem. The only conditions that really suit acrylic paint is cool humid still air, not always available, so I use an airconditioner in my studio. I think you should use the extender.
