Dark matter are invisible objects that react with matter by gravitational force. Scientists believe that the dark matter is made up of exotic particles like WIMPs(Weakly Interacting Massive Particles). In physical cosmology, dark energy is an exotic form of energy that permeates all of space and tends to increase the rate of expansion of the universe.Dark energy is the most popular way to explain recent observations that the universe appears to be expanding at an accelerating rate. In the standard model of cosmology, dark energy currently accounts for 73% of the total mass-energy of the universe.

  • really informative and interesting

  • Study tip:

We can see the tracks of dark matter by the distortion of light caused by it.

  • @01000001011100100111 yes the event horizon is like the 'atmosphere' of a black hole i guess you'd say, it's just the point of no return when entering a black hole, space and time still exist. but the singularity, the infinitely small, dense point where space and time cease is where einstien's equations yield infinity and quantum mechanic's equations yield and infinite number of infinities. basically this point is where space and time make no sense at all

  • @maxdorries Isn't the event horizon considered part of the black hole?

  • @lanunselat black holes, even supermassive black holes, take up no space, it is a singularity but still retains the wieght, or gravity, of the matter it used to be. no black hole is anywhere near the size of a ping-pong ball, they'[re much smaller than even electrons

  • Is it possible that this gravity silhoutte was generated by the micro-singularity? a black hole the size of a ping-pong ball but with enough density to generate the gravity that rival the biggest star

  • Let's send the USS Enterprise to investigate.

  • I have been to the Tower/Sudan mine. I went down there on a field trip in highschool. We got to go down inside of it. Never would have known it was such a cool place if it wasnt for these people!

  • @bdpra68 wiki it. There are some scientists who believe they may be neutrinos, but people like Michio don't think so. There is also some ideas that what we call dark matter may just be gravitons leaking into our universe from a parallel universe

  • I think the term "Dark Matter" jus means, "Don't know what the Fhuk it means, twice"
