Amanda Baker, public relation representative and Media Officer for the UK Vegan Society shows the booklet: "Plant Based Nutrition Healthy Eating without Animal Products".
"...Where do I get my important nutrients such as the vitamin B12 in a vegan diet?...Healthy fats? Where do I get proteins from? How to protect my bones. The "Veg1" supplement for vegans...Free copy of this booklets are available on the vegan society web site".

Amanda Baker explains for the Veggie Channel viewers what is the The Vegan Society: "...it is a membership organization, we are pleased to have over 4 thousands members worlwide, that is where we get a lot of our financial support. The Vegan Society doesn't get any official financial support from the governement in the UK. We are supported by the generosity of our supporters. We also work with companies that produce vegan products...we are a registered charity organization in the UK...we go to meetings organised by agricolture organizations such as DEFRA...

Defra is the UK government department responsible for policy and regulations on the environment, food and rural affairs.

...also we speak with the "Food Standards Agency"

The Food Standards Agency is an independent Government department set up by an Act of Parliament in 2000 to protect the public's health and consumer interests in relation to food.

...We work with vegans all around the world, we do offer support, we can collaborate and support one to another.
The sunflower symbol of the Vegan Society is a Trade Mark also in the United States, in Australia and so on...
...We beleave that the Bristol Vegan Faire is the largest Vegan Festival in the World... Many opportunities for people to try free samples..There will be many organization such as the Vegan Organic Network that research and promote vegan-organic (also known as stockfree organic) methods of agriculture and horticulture throughout the world so that green, clean and cruelty-free food becomes widely available.

  • I'll be there but I think they've changed the name to the Bristol Eco Veggie Fayre. Presumably because some people find the word 'vegan' too intimidating and the organisers don't won't to 'scare people off'.

  • Very informative Amanda, well done! I was at the Vegan Fayre and it was great.
