  • @yairiluvr my papa was a caudill, and a minor years ago in eastern kentucky. a little coal mining camp called Crummies..it's no longer there. The mines tore everything down after they shut down. Papa worked over 20 years in the mines, and even broke his back at one point. It's a tough way to make a living.

  • THIS WAS , NO IS MY HOME TO.N AND I LOVE IT STILL. ALWAYS REMEMBER THE COAL MINERS OF THESE ONCE BEAUTIFULL MOUNTAINS

MY GRANDFATHER AND HIS FATHER BEFORE LONG WAY DOWN THE LINE WERE COAL MINERS. I ALSO AM FROM LETCHER COUNTY.

  • I really love this song. My husband is a coal miner here in Kentucky. My father and grandfathers also worked in the coal mines. Coal mining is a very dangerous job, but it is one of the only job around here that provides a good living for a man without a college education.

  • Now I see what my Father was telling me about where His Home-Town is and what it was like. ty.

  • i love all you coal miners,my papaw and my dad was coal miners and now my son, god bless all of you miners.

  • I was born a coal miner's great granddaughter. Despite the danger, coal miners are proud of what they do and sometimes choose it over other professions.

  • My great grandfather was a cole miner in Blackmountain Kentucky.
