How to use your MiniDv as a WebCam! That's if your cam won't allow you to manipulate it with software.
You'll need Debut and Manycam
(Use these software at your own risk. This is what has worked for me.)

Tips
When you attach your Firewire/usb cord restart the pc. If it's still not recognizing your cam, turn the pc all the way off and unplug it for 5 mins then turn it back on. Listen for a sound and a pop on your taskbar that there is a new hardware. My driver was auto-installed for my by my pc but you might have to go to your cam's site to download your driver software. If you've tried everything continue to google from time to time to see if someone has found away to install your cam as a webcam on your pc.
