The Technology Education and Literacy in Schools (TEALS www.tealsk12.org) program provides Microsoft employees and other high tech professionals with the opportunity to volunteer as high school computer science teachers with a three-month-long summer training course in pedagogy, curriculum development and classroom management. The volunteer teachers then work in high school classrooms for schools struggling to provide computer science offerings on their own, including urban schools with underrepresented populations.
