I live in Trinidad and Tobago. If I listen to this song without looking at the video, I get the sense of someone living in a foreign land and longing to come here which appears to be a better place to be. Their is emotional turmoil because the dream in not being realised. When I look at the video, the beginning with the airport scenes suggests travelling, however when we get to the bedroom romancing and the girl squeezing a piece of glass in her hand until she bleeds, etc, I get lost.
