Gorgeous voice and it was so sad that she died at only 41. She was so brave that she continued with her last performance at Covent Garden even though by then the cancer had got to her bones and her leg broke on stage! Amazing woman.

The Ferrier voice is out of this world but my God what was Sargeant doing with the temo? Over a minute longer than most others. He could only get away with that because of the extraordinary skill of the singer. At least we get to hear her for longer.

So sad that this recording has only 2575 hits, i love rock and roll , blues , country , punk , garage , club and most current bands , but this recording by Kathleen Ferrier sends shivers down my spine, beautiful , beautiful
