I finally got to use my new Alessis Fusion 8HD synth on this post (dig the swirly Supertramp electric piano patch?) - and, this video has NO GUITARS. A real rarity for me. The video was created with Photostory3 and MUCHO Photoshopping. This is a fun, tongue-in-cheek departure. I hope you enjoy it! ~Jon

Your MacGuffin

It's a tough one, your MacGuffin,
I never can figure it out.
And in the long run,
If youre the wrong one,
That's all I care about.
I asked Françoise Truffaut to decipher,
The ambiguities of your plot,
But it's a tough one, your MacGuffin.

You've a mean way, in your screenplay,
To lead me from scene to scene.
My synopsis, that your plot is,
Bordering on obscene.
Still I'm drawn to your every distraction,
And all the factions seem to agree,
It's a tough one, your MacGuffin.

I'm no critic,
But I still have my thumb up.
And I can't quit it,
So I guess you'll have to dumb-up,
Every other line,
So in the end I can sum up,
Some of the parts.

I'd ask Alfred Hitchcock to show me,
But he's kind of dead,
And he doesn't really know me,
And if he did he wouldn't condescend,
or even owe me a dime.
Thanks for your time!

You seducer, you confuser,
You never gave me a clue.
And when I read it, in the credits,
I didn't know what to do.
You thanked everyone under the Sun, but,
The only one who ever was true.
It's a tough one, your MacGuffin.

And I'm the wrong man,
But I seem to be caught in,
An underhanded plan,
With a doppelgangin' felon.
Oh, I'm your biggest fan,
But I feel you have fallen,
From a great height.

My heads still spinnin',
From your bait-&-switch-a-rooin'.
You act so winning,
But you knew what you were doin',
Back at the beginning,
When my only thoughts were you & me,
Now there's birds in the trees!

Its a tough one, your MacGuffin,
Like a fly buzzing round my head.
Idiotic, a bit psychotic,
That's what my Mother said.
Still, I won't ever try to suppress you,
I guess you knew that I'm easily lead,
And it's a tough one, your MacGuffin.

I must admit, I was raised on Monty Python, and yes, I can nearly quote the entire "Cheese Shop" sketch! I hope Terry Gilliam would be proud of my feeble efforts here. I'm lost for words.. From open to close this video is utter brilliance! It's like Monty Python, Supertramp and Bonzo Dog Doo Dah Band had a baby and it became this song, but having had the privilege of knowing you all this time, I know it's undeniably Jon Shelton! Please, please, please don't stop making videos and music -- you're an inspiration and I'm going to make sure more people share the experience
