What is the PVDA Ride for Life?

Ride for Life is a licensed dressage show sponsored by The Potomac Valley Dressage Association. This unique event has a very special purpose -- to fund breast cancer research at the Johns Hopkins Avon Foundation Breast Cancer Center. Riders raise donations, 100% of the admissions donations; the proceeds from a Silent Auction, Gala and a percentage of logo merchandise sales all benefit the cause. An annual equestrian tradition, the PVDA Ride for Life attracts top riders from the U.S. and abroad, including Olympians, to compete for prizes and championship titles. About 200 horses are shown in various competitive levels during the 2-day show. The Saturday evening Dancing Horse Challenge with its special musical freestyles exquisitely performed by top FEI Dressage riders is rapidly becoming The Show to See in the Mid-Atlantic Region. Social events, unique shopping in 45 boutiques and a Silent Auction round out this family oriented and visitor-friendly show.

i was there last year, and i must say R4L has to be my favorit show iv ever been to next to nationals i competed in. I was also the top Jr. High Pledge winner raising around i think $13,000.00 Thanks so much PVDA for thorwing a show for an amazing cause, keep up the great work!

WOW! How come I've never heard of this show before?? Are these riders coming back this year? I'm not local but may be able to come this year........where and when can I buy tickets? You should get more press on this! :)

This year we have Debbie McDonald as a guest speaker, Michael Barrisone, Betsy Steiner, Courtney King-Dye, and Cathy Morelli confirmed so far as riders with more coming.

Dear Christina! thank you for helping us build this! This show has a spirit of its own, different from other competitions, because of riders like you! It is truly possible that some mom will see her kids grow up ( as I did) because you helped her become a survivor. Hope you can come again - it will be a great year. We are relatively new, & have grown from a grassroots effort I started with the help of friends only 6 years ago. Some of these riders may be coming back & Courtney King-Dye, Michael Barisone among others will ride this year! Admission is only a $15 donation . We will be publishing how to get tickets - well receipts for your donations really, because 100% of the gate goes to charity. Help us FILL the 3000 seats on June 27th.
