Ave Maria!
Father Angelo speaks again about Dom Chautard's The Soul of the Apostolate and his concept of custody of the heart, and connects this idea with St. Paul's comments on the Armor of God, in Ephesians 6. As knights we need to guard our own hearts before we can guard and protect others. This subject is so close to my own heart. As a mom of four I have had to struggle with the question of time alone with Him. I feel there is much in the episode between Mary and Martha to guide us here. Jesus promises that the choice of Mary to sit at His feet and listen was indeed the better choice. And then His wonderful promise to give Mary His special protection "what she has will not be taken from her". - Blessings - Rene

mmorrtt,
I apologize for my late reply. I have been traveling.
The quote you are asking about is in "The Soul of the Apostolate"; Part Four: Action Made Fruitful by the Interior Life; Section F: The formation of shock troops, Spiritual direction, a method of analyzing and guiding souls. I omit the page number as there are a number of editions.

Pax tecum Father, awesome episode. I'm curious, the quote of Pope St Pius X speaking on the well formed laymen, where is that from exactly?
