i dont understand why ben folds opening for john pisses people off? they're both great musicians! If BB King and Jimi Hendrix were doing a show together (for example) one of them would have to open first lol even though they're both amazing musicians

While Satriani is a virtuoso, he does indeed lack some of the soul some guitarists make up for. I never assumed you to be an idiot, but with the plethora of skilled and seasoned guitarists out there, you are the first I have ever heard call John Meyer the "best guitarist ever". No doubt he deserves props, but it was in my personal opinion that perhaps your view was less based on fact, and more on a narrow scope of knowledge.

Why? Because she is a talented pianist? It's not "cool" to hate music just because it's popular. While I am not personally a big fan of her music, I recognize her as a talented musician, who's music, while not necessarily catering to my tastes, is unique, well thought out, and nowhere close to bad. Oh boy, listen to Clapton, Hendrix, Satriani, and just about half of the lead guitarists of the 1970's era and come back and tell us with a straight face Mayer is the best guitarist ever. Hell, l doubt you even know who Django Reinhardt is. Meyer is not bad, but he's got at least another 30 to 40 years before he can share the title of guitar legend.
