  • Ernest Tubb kicks ass !

  • I am restoring, cosmetically and electronically, a late 1949 production DuMont RA-105B "Sussex" Televisor. About halfway done, awaiting parts. I'll be playing a lot of DuMont Television Shows on it, amongst other items, when it's done.

  • "Set 'em up Joe and play 'Walkin' the Floor!' " Nobody did it better. Now if you could just get some vintage Hank Williams doing the "Honky Tonk Blues"...

  • Well if I had to pick my favorite Ernest Tubb song it'd be this one. But what ever happened to Billy Byrd? I guess he hadn't joined E.T.'s country band yet. Another thing that I have noticed except for the old timers like E.T. the steel guitar seems to have gone the way of dinosaurs.

  • @SpeedyNeutrino43 post video of it!

  • I really like that television clip.

  • I have a big floor model console Stromberg Carlson radio from 1936. It still has all the paper stickers inside and that's how I know it's a '36 model. Get this...I found it beside the street with other stuff that somebody had put out for the trash truck. The original finish is still in good shape as is the fabric behind the wooden grille at the bottom. I replaced two tubes in it and it still plays great. It has a huge speaker, maybe a 15 incher.

  • What a beautiful set! Great work!

  • This is a clip from the Pet Milk Grand Ole Opry. How great to see Ernest on a TV the way it originally aired!

  • Curtis Mathis has been around for years. The were not the best aets at all. They were cheap and did not last long. Then other companies such as samsung, zenith and RCA used the name.

  • Seems like I remember this set pictured here.

I done some restoration work to one like it back when I was in the TV shop. IIRC it has a 17 inch CRT and used 5U4G for low voltage rectifiers.

    Boy thats been awhile!
