Some of this is really great playing, BUT, the pursuit of speed and volume all to often leads to just that: fast and loud sound that is brassy and brittle. It overplays the instrument, forcing the sound, and it does not make good music. I hear that in some of the variations, and consequently they lose any style and grace they might have had.

I just saw these to girls preform at a wedding and with a little stalkerish digging I ran into this. Simply amazing. They are absolutely beautiful in person also.

Just randomly looking though passacaglia videos and I thought I recognized taplin auditorium.... looked down, read that it was at princeton.. was like whoa.

i agree with Jnewburger. Haha! Tempo is too fast for the supoosedly slower part. I tried this song on my viola.. haha! Cant get the fast part well.

A passacaglia is a dance. This changes tempo too much to be danced too. The tempo should be more constant throughout. You can't just play the fun variations whatever tempo you feel like.
