@Ray0X0 I've just listened to Gheorghiu again, and - indeed - it is glorious. But this is one area where I want the pain - the ache -plus a bit of revenge implied! Callas does this for me wonderfully. And, of course, I remember that she was the first I heard to be so tormented .....Aren't we lucky that there are so many fine artists giving us their interpretations to enjoy ? Where would we be in this world, now, without music ? I'm so grateful but I know may people haven't this yet.

Yma Sumac sings an extremely beautiful version of this on a new CD (2012) called The Voice. Callas and Sumac sing it more beautifully than any versions I have ever heard.

@LaPolymita Purtroppo non posso farci niente. E' Youtube che decide. Sono infastidito anch'io dalla pubblicità, ma non sono io a decidere. Non ho accordi commerciali e non guadagno niente dalla pubblicità.
