PG's Joe Coffey is On Location at the LA Amp show where he visits with Blackstar Amplification. In this video, we get to see how they do tone across the pond. The Blackstar HT5 might look small, but it uses all 5 watts to pack a gritty punch in the gut. For more gear info, visit www.premierguitar.com

  • I want to hear it with full distortion guys ...

  • @Botdra Imho 's not a fair comparison...blackstar is about 650€(100w head here in europe) and splawn is 3 times more!!

  • @nickfromdtown1992 Yeah, the reason I suggested finding better videos is because they are hard to find over here in Canada, so thought that might be the deal for others too.

  • @Botdra yeah thats cool and all and it did help but you can only really see what an amp can do unless you play it

  • @nickfromdtown1992 I'm not surprised it does, it's a good amp! :P I do like that there's much more on YouTube about the Blackstar series though, that might've helped with my decision knowing that there was more material on it you know?

  • @Botdra yeah i agree i was actually considering a blackstar for a long time. and the splawn handles them really well.

  • @nickfromdtown1992 Yeah I've heard both in person. This demo video really sucks as far as hearing how good the Blackstar really is, but I think it's just better for my style personally. One thing is I haven't heard how the Splawn takes pedals, I'm sure it takes them great but I haven't heard it compared to the Blackstar. I just order the Blackstar HT-60 because it seemed perfect. So far I prefer the cleans and the dirt channels, but yeah it's taste for sure. Both SICK amps.

  • @Botdra @nickfromdtown1992 have you heard the nitro in person? because i thought that about the quick rod but the nitro is probably the thickest sounding amp ive ever heard. but youre right it all taste

  • @nickfromdtown1992 The Splawn sounds too thin to me on the dirty channels. I prefer the Blackstar HT series, but I gotta admit the Splawn is a sick amp too. Just my opinion though, it's all preference.

  • @HagusYoung i dont know but i know the splawn nitro can do that except wayyyyy meaner
