  • Hi Shawn,

Excellent videos they really help simplify the golf swing however a quick question on this topic.

I recently seen a comparison of hogan and woods with both showing a head drop during the swing on youtube. wdefrancesco shows a number of top pro swings with this head drop occuring.

I also noticed you have a tendency to drop slightly during your swing. Is this a good players tendency? (I play off 10 and tend to do the opposite by raising up in both the back and through swings)

  • Hey Scotslift! Very important videos for you to watch: "golf pro lesson head bobbing" and "Golf pro lesson get more club speed and power"; the answers will surprise the heck out of you!! You are closer that you think!

  • Thanks Shawn! I've struggled trying to do what Tiger and Adam can do with their tremendous flexibility. My torso is not nearly as flexible, but my shoulders are. This causes me to underturn my hips and overturn my arms in a failed effort to get to their backswing positions. My arms and shoulders get out of sync, trapped, and I hit pull-hooks. Letting the left knee break inward has let me keep my arms synchronized. I feel like I'm finally swinging according to my body type. Thanks Bro!

  • Thanks for the great comment!

  • Extremely valuable video, another classic from Clement!!!!

  • keep up the great work. I have a tendency to raise up not just on my toes, but my shoulders as well (like a cat stretching). is this really bad as I sometimes see pros do this as well? any other drills or vids that can help with this?

  • Brilliant! Clears a lot up and helps me understand much better.

The head needs to drop slightly to plant or squat the weight onto the left side.

    Hopefully, better ball compression awaits:)

  • Hi Shawn, this video has cleared up so many issues for me.

    Keep up the great work.

    Cheers Kevin

  • JEEESUS man. My senior year golf team i started doing that "jumping" thing, which would result in a high push to the right or a low snap hook. I almost quit the game, until i slowly started to ease in to more weight on my heels and insides of my feet, which seemed to fix it. but MAN if i had only seen this video years ago, it would have save MUCH MUCH frustration. thanks though, it is a great help!

  • Hi Shawn. Love your vids for the clarity and great explanations. At what age would you start a child learnig golf, and are there any drills or activites you recommend. My take is that there are many other sports moves that can help, like tossing balls, throwing, etc that give the feeling of weight shift, clearing the hips, etc. Thanks a bunch!

  • Hi Hank; this one is easy! Your arm motion is way too inside in the backswing and there is no support in the downswing; see the following videos: "golf pro lesson arms falling down plane", "golf pro lesson golf swing medicine", "golf pro lesson momentum toss" part 1 and 2; 'Golf pro lesson feet together drill" and "golf pro lesson nike heavy gloves" part 1 and 2 for starters! Shawn
