.......furthermore, for my senior project field work, i went skydiving in order to live through a "dangerous" event. Danger is exhilarating and people are willing to be scared and do something seemingly dangerous for thrills. Society over emphasizes safety and people naturally want to rebel. thats my two cents. =D cool video too!!!!!
I really like this video. I did my senior project on the psychology of risk and fear. Basically, people engage in risks because life for the most part is mundane and boring. Going on a ride at a theme park is a way to "live dangerously" without actually doing anything dangerous. Interestingly enough, in my research i learned that voluntary risk taking is very low in 3rd world countries where danger is an everyday reality.
