Generation F*cked - How Britain is Eating Its Young. Commentary on article by Adbusters' Maria Hampton.

"According to the Unicef report, which measured 40 indicators of quality of life -- including the strength of relationships with friends and family, educational achievements and personal aspirations, and exposure to drinking, drug taking and other risky behavior -- British children have the most miserable upbringing in the developed world. American children come next, second from the bottom."

  • i agree about getting rid of the dependence of money. we're all frantically working for this paper and copper material and giving it such great value, when at the end of the day, it's just mere paper and copper.

i really wish that would could go back to a system where families grew their own crops and traded with other people. in this modern day, once you lose your job and food runs out, what then? you have nothing to fall back on besides welfare or eating out of trash cans.

  • @kitches1991 But here's what people miss:money isn't just "paper and iron." It's in everything that you can see in your world around you. Buildings, appliances, machines, labor. The genie is out of the bottle. What needs to be accepted is that some form of money is going to be around for a very long time, although capitalism's days are numbered, so what kind of new social contract do we want to create in the wreckage that follows is the question. Equity or more of the same?

  • NO Money...? who's going to work...? Where's your food and water going to come from...? then what...? I know money is a monopoly game type system based on elitism, greed , control , war, murder... etc etc... but if the system fails... Then no running water ,no food on shelves, no electricity...etc... what do you suggest..........?

  • @horuslovechild2 Resistence Is Victory ! ! ! ! !

  • @Salihovicable Resistance is separation and not an effective way to deal with the problems that beset society, The system has to be CHANGED, not "resisted."

  • @horuslovechild2 I'm not sure what u refer to, but "no money" isn't a viable choice for humanity anytime soon, precisely for the reasons you list. Groups, like the Venus Project and TMZ miss this point completely. Research the Basic Income Grant that is gaining notice around the world. It's a perspective that is a little more practical than the childish idea of "no money now."
