What do you do if you get to an arm bar and the opponent stacks you well? This is an advanced BJJ method of dealing with the situation. If you get to position for the armbar, but he stacks hard and well, you usually have to give it up and go back to guard. This is a great submission half-way back to the guard.

  • Can't you gouge his eyes when he's commencing his stack?

  • @Anandfulness Good question. The problem is that the opponent will often turn his head away while stacking, making it difficult to get the fingers in the eyes. And if he just shuts his eyes tight, the gouge may not have much of an effect in a real, adrenalized situation. But there are times when the eye gouge can alleviate pressure and allow you to use good grappling skills to improve your position.

  • Thx so much! I keep getting stacked from the armbar and have been frustrated on trying to counter.

  • @napEhair This takes some practice, but when you get it, your opponent will be very surprised!

  • I am glad you like it. Go put it to use!
