Bette's Dark Victory

Bette Davis gave a strongly emotional performance of heiress Judith Traherne in Dark Victory. I thought Tchaikovsky's Swan Lake would render the tragic dimension of the character's destiny. I hope you enjoy watching it -- although it's not one of my funniest videos, I must admit that ^^

In point of great films, 1939 was a cornucopia of riches. It too released Bette Davis's "The Private Lives of Elizabeth and Essex," and "Gone With the Wind," "Wizard of Oz" and many others.
